COVID-19 activities

Keeping our children constructively occupied and everyone's sanity in one piece is going to be a challenge. Anxiety over finances, health, mental health and staying connected is a real concern. so perhaps creating a list of resources that help us cope, recover and perhaps even thrive during this challenging time may be a good idea. Here are a few activities, links to other sites and so on

Tips.

  • Board games that promote cooperation and laughter. Try to avoid ones that are too strong on competition.
  • As an alternative to role playing games, try online chess. Seems quite old-fashioned but this promotes thinking ahead and emotional regulation, especially when compared to role playing, first person shooter games.
  • Take regular time-out breaks for both parents and children.
  • Start a garden using seedlings or seeds. Photograph it each day, recording it growth.
